New colorways and itterations of current icons hit the shelves this month
After the launch of their first collection of bags in August, it was time for an update. In line with the Zeitgeist of today, KAAI does not publish a completely new collection. For Spring ’19, the Belgian accessories brand by Ine Verhaert and Helga Meersmans works with seasonal updates. The two founders are inspired by conversations with their customers.
‘We want to inspire women with our brand, but we leave us as much as we go in the door with us,’ explains co-founder Ine Verhaert. ‘A community is really beginning to form, and it is essential that we listen to that community.’
With their Studio Store in the Nationalestraat in Antwerp they have a perfect location for new ideas and testing and testing. From their conversations with the customers, who were always positive, one thing became very clear: there was definitely room for expanding the collection.
‘What we found was that, in contrast to other brands, the KAAI women appreciate color. They also appreciate the eye for detail and design that can be found in our current collection. But sometimes people do feel like smaller iterations of our current icon models would be more practical.’
