The experiential concept that connects Belgian tastes, objects and stories

Food-lovers, beware: on the 24th of November, HERITAGE HOUSE has officially opened its doors. This ‘store-meets-gallery’ offers an on- and offline platform for premium Belgian food design, be it table-wear, kitchen-wear or actual food. The founders are self-proclaimed foodies (“in the true meaning of the word”) Frederik Depoorter and Vicky Vandamme, who want to share their passion for craftsmanship with like-minded individuals. A true food-community seems to be on its way.

HERITAGE HOUSE’s philosophy evolves around the notion that there is so much more to a nice dining experience than simply buying food and preparing it. As Vandamme puts it: “The experience is created by bringing together products that complement each other, that enhance each other and tell a story together. A story that ensures that you enjoy what you eat, that you enjoy the moment and the atmosphere.” This story comes together in the shape of exclusive and authentic objects and products, made by over forty Belgian artisans, so-called ‘heritists’.

At the store, you can sit down at the main table and taste a bit of Belgium’s history and future in terms of food and design. Or you can pop in and browse the shop, where you will lay your eyes on objects that complement and shape the food experience- ranging from skillfully crafted knife-sets or pots to bottles of fruit vinegar, table linens and chocolate. During nocturnal events and presentations, the ‘heritist-lovers’ will get a chance to meet the craftsmen and connect with other foodies. Can't visit the store in Antwerp? Heritage also has an online boutique where you can discover all of their objects, tastes and stories.
